COUNSELLING WITH AISLING
"Yesterday I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today I am wise, so I am changing myself."
Rumi
I am an Integrative counsellor and registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I believe that the relationship is the most important aspect of the counselling process, with a safe and empathetic connection facilitating healing. I offer a non-judgmental, confidential and friendly space to talk and work through any issues which you may be struggling with.
As an integrative counsellor I work with a variety of different modalities, tailored to fit each client. I work in a client led way and offer a safe space to support and explore my client’s individual needs.
I have experience of working with adults from different age groups, experiencing a variety of problems such as, anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, low self-esteem and everyday life difficulties. I have a specific interest in working with young adults, experiencing anxiety, depression, low confidence and self-esteem and who are looking to explore identity.
As a member of the BACP I have undertaken accredited training and meet certain standards within my practice. I follow the BACP ethical framework to ensure my practice is safe, ethical and puts my clients first.
PERSONAL COUNSELLING
WHAT IS COUNSELLING?
Counselling is a unique service, offering individuals a safe, confidential space to be heard and work through issues without judgement. Working together we can explore your worries and empower you to find solutions and make the changes you want in your life. We will explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours to better understand yourself and your relationships with others.
HOW I CAN HELP
I work in a client-led way, holding the belief that the client is the expert in their own life. Therefore, I do not offer advice, but I provide a supportive space to work through an individual's issues alongside them. I work with my clients to explore their beliefs and motivations, to identify the root cause of their problems.
I work with individuals experiencing a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, low self-esteem, stress, everyday life difficulties and personal development.
"I have just finished a few months of counselling sessions with Aisling and wanted to say that the sessions have really helped me understand how to deal with my problems on a daily basis. I was in a bad place and the sessions really helped me to get back on track and also have a plan for the future. She was very helpful, compassionate and helped me feel more confident going forward. I am very grateful for the support, and felt instantly at ease. If ever I have further problems, I wouldn't hesitate to get in touch with Aisling, or recommend her to anyone I know who needs help in the future." - Anonymous
My sessions are 60 minutes long - I offer face to face, telephone and online sessions via Zoom at a fee of £55.
I also have a limited number of spaces for concessionary rates.
I'm based in Exeter but as I work online and via telephone I can work with individuals from all over.
I currently only have daytime availability.
I provide a free initial 30 minute consultation either via telephone or video chat to see how we get along and whether counselling with me feels like the right option for you.
"We think we listen, but very rarely do we listen with real understanding, true empathy. Yet listening, of this very special kind, is one of the most potent forces for change that I know."
